Kit Terms of Sale

In these terms, "Darwin" and "we" mean John Visser, operating as Darwin Business Solutions, 244 4th Ave West, Prince Rupert, BC V8J 1P3, bookkeeper@darwinbusinesssolutions.com, GST/HST no. 748087004 RT0001. "You" means the buyer named at checkout.

These terms have two parts. Part 1 covers the T5018 Done Right kit (your purchase). Part 2 covers the optional add-ons, each sold separately: the Subcontractor Onboarding Pack, the T5018 Slip Check and the Done-for-you T5018 Filing. You don't need any of them, and each add-on section applies only if you choose that add-on. By ticking the box at checkout, you agree to these terms.

Our products are for businesses in Canada, excluding Quebec, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. We don't sell to buyers in those provinces. Prices are in Canadian dollars and include any applicable GST/HST. No PST is charged.

Part 1. T5018 Done Right

Version T5018DR-v1.6. Effective November 4, 2026.

1. What you're buying

T5018 Done Right is a digital kit for owner-run trades businesses on QuickBooks Online. It includes:

• 5 short video lessons, about 16 minutes in total: Do you need slips?; Clean up your subs in QuickBooks Online; The payments sheet and your T4s; Chase missing info and file; Late, wrong or missed slips;
• the T5018 Done Right Guide (PDF): the T4 & payroll year-end checklist, the "Fix it before you file" list and four ready-to-send emails for your subs;
• the Subcontractor Information Form (PDF), to collect each sub's legal name, address and business number;
• the Subcontractor Payments Sheet (Excel / Google Sheets), which totals what you paid each sub and flags who needs a T5018;
• bonus: the QuickBooks File Self-Check.

It's a digital product (guide, templates and course access), delivered by email right after purchase. Need help? Email bookkeeper@darwinbusinesssolutions.com about logging in, downloads, your order, refunds or questions about the lessons. Our answers are general bookkeeping information only. They aren't tax advice, and we don't look at or work on your own QuickBooks file. The Kit doesn't include a call.

2. AI disclosure

• The videos are presented by "Harper", an AI-generated presenter with an AI-generated voice. Harper isn't a real person or a Darwin employee. John Visser writes or approves every script. The videos are recorded on a QuickBooks demo company, never a client's file.

3. Educational only

• The Kit is general education to help you do your own slips and checks. It is not advice for your business and not a review of your QuickBooks file.
• It isn't tax, legal or investment advice, and it isn't an audit, review, compilation or any other assurance engagement.
• Darwin Business Solutions is not a CPA firm. Talk to your CPA or tax adviser before acting on anything that affects your taxes or filings.
• You stay responsible for your own slips, filings and deadlines, and for what you decide to do with the Kit. CRA rules and QuickBooks screens change. Where the Kit differs from current CRA guidance or QuickBooks screens, follow the CRA and QuickBooks.

4. Your licence

• We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Kit for your own business and its staff.
• You may print and copy it for that use, and you may send the email templates to your own subcontractors.
• You may not resell, share, post, upload, lend or give the Kit or its links to anyone outside your business, or use it to train or teach others for a fee.
• Darwin keeps all rights in the Kit. QuickBooks is a trademark of Intuit Inc. Darwin isn't affiliated with Intuit or the CRA.

5. Price and payment

• The price is the one shown on the order page when you buy: C$27 for purchases up to 11:59 PM Pacific Time on December 31, 2026; C$47 for purchases from January 1, 2027 to 11:59 PM Pacific Time on January 31, 2027; and C$67 after that. All prices include any applicable GST/HST.
• You pay by card at checkout through our payment processor (Stripe, via Systeme.io). We don't see or store your full card number.
• Your receipt is emailed to you after payment, with a link to these terms.

6. Refunds on the Kit

• Bought on or before 11:59 PM Pacific Time on January 31, 2027: full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. You keep the full 14 days even if they run past January 31, 2027.
• Bought after 11:59 PM Pacific Time on January 31, 2027: all sales are final. You get access to the Kit right away, so it isn't refundable. This is shown on the order page before you pay.
• Whenever you bought, if we don't deliver the Kit, or it isn't what the order page described, email us and we'll make it right or refund you. This doesn't limit any refund the law gives you.
• How to ask: email bookkeeper@darwinbusinesssolutions.com from the email address you used to order.
• Your course access is removed when the refund is issued.
• Refunds include any GST/HST paid, in proportion to the amount refunded.
• The Kit refund covers the Kit only. Each add-on has its own refund terms in Part 2.
• Card disputes: please email us first. We can usually sort out a problem without a dispute.

7. Your information

We use your name, email and province to deliver your order, send your receipt and keep tax records. We don't sell your information. Our online store and payments are run by service providers (Systeme.io and Stripe), who handle your information on our behalf and may store it outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. Darwin handles personal information under BC's Personal Information Protection Act. Marketing email. If you sign up for our free download, you agree to our emails by entering your email next to this statement: "By entering your email, you agree that Darwin Business Solutions (John Visser, 244 4th Ave West, Prince Rupert BC V8J 1P3, bookkeeper@darwinbusinesssolutions.com) may email you T5018 tips and offers. Unsubscribe anytime." If you buy from us, we may send you related tips and offers for up to 2 years after your purchase. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and shows Darwin's name, mailing address (244 4th Ave West, Prince Rupert BC V8J 1P3) and email. We always send order and other transactional emails, such as receipts and product delivery. Our Privacy Policy has the details, including how to see or correct your information.

8. Limit of liability

• The Kit is provided as described on the order page. We don't promise any particular result, such as error-free slips or no CRA penalties.
• Darwin's total liability for anything relating to a product you bought from us under these terms, however it arises, is limited to the amount you paid for the product the claim relates to. For the Kit, that's the price you paid for the Kit.
• Darwin isn't liable for indirect, special or consequential damages, lost profits or revenue, or tax penalties or interest.
• Any claim must be brought within 12 months after you bought the product it relates to.
• Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

9. Limits apply in all cases

The limits in section 8 apply in all cases.

10. Entire agreement

These terms and the order page at the time of your purchase are the whole agreement for the Kit and any add-ons you buy (the Done-for-you T5018 Filing is also governed by its engagement letter). They replace any earlier message or listing about them. If the order page and these terms differ, these terms apply, except for price: the price you pay is the price shown on the order page you use (see "Lower-price offers" in Part 2). We may update these terms for future purchases, but the version in effect when you buy applies to your purchase.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You and Darwin agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.

Part 2. Optional add-ons (only if you choose them)

Version ADDONS-v1.4. Effective November 4, 2026. Each add-on is sold separately, and you don't need any of them.

Subcontractor Onboarding Pack (C$17)

• A digital add-on delivered with the Kit.
• Refund if bought on or before 11:59 PM Pacific Time on January 31, 2027: full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. You keep the full 14 days even if they run past January 31, 2027. Access is removed on refund.
• Bought after 11:59 PM Pacific Time on January 31, 2027: all sales are final. You get access to the Onboarding Pack right away, so it isn't refundable. This is shown on the order page before you pay.
• Whenever you bought, if we don't deliver the Onboarding Pack, or it isn't what the order page described, email us and we'll make it right or refund you. This doesn't limit any refund the law gives you.
• The templates and checklists are general tools. Check them against your own records before you rely on them. They aren't tax, legal or investment advice, and Darwin is not a CPA firm. If you use the Onboarding Pack, collect Social Insurance Numbers only in person or by phone, never by email or online form.

T5018 Slip Check (C$97, up to 10 slips, plus $5 per extra slip)

• A Darwin bookkeeper reviews the draft slips you upload and sends you a written list of fixes. You file the return yourself and remain responsible for it.
• Refund: full refund if you cancel before you upload; no refund once your Slip Check is delivered; full refund if we can't deliver for reasons within our control.

Done-for-you T5018 Filing (C$327, up to 10 subcontractors, plus $25 per extra)

• This service is governed by a separate engagement letter. Work starts only after you sign it, and its terms (including refunds) apply to that service.

For all add-ons

• Refunds include any GST/HST paid, in proportion to the amount refunded. To ask for a refund, email bookkeeper@darwinbusinesssolutions.com from the address you used to order.
• Lower-price offers. We sometimes offer an add-on or service at a lower price through a link in our emails. The price you pay is the price shown on the order page you use. A lower price isn't applied to earlier orders, and we don't refund the difference. This doesn't change your refund rights under these terms or the engagement letter. Refunds are based on the price you actually paid.
• If you add a service that needs your records, send them only through the private upload link we give you. We never ask for SINs by email, text or chat. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us.
• Sections 3 to 5 and 7 to 12 of Part 1 also apply to each add-on, with the add-on's name in place of "Kit" and its own price. Under section 8, Darwin's liability for each add-on is limited to the price you paid for that add-on.
